What We Do
The OFR’s mission is to protect the citizens of Florida, promote a safe and sound financial marketplace and contribute to the growth of Florida’s economy with smart, efficient and effective regulation of the financial services industry. The goal of the Office of Communications & Governmental Relations is to support the agency’s mission by continuously improving communication with Floridians and telling the agency’s story. This team coordinates communication with media, the Florida Legislature, cabinet members, constituents, state and federal partners and regulated industries to provide a clear, unified message about the agency.
Jamie C. Mongiovi, Director of Communications & Governmental Relations
Jamie Mongiovi joined the Florida Office of Financial Regulation as Director of Communications in 2014, and was promoted to lead the Office of Communications & Governmental Relations in 2015. Jamie came to the agency from a leading public relations firm in Tallahassee, bringing more than a decade of experience in communications, public relations and legislative affairs. Prior to working in the private sector, Jamie served as spokesperson at the Florida Department of Education. A lifelong Floridian, Jamie earned a bachelor’s degree from the Florida State University.
Katherine Norris, Deputy Director of Communications
Katie Norris joined the Florida Office of Financial Regulation in January 2012, serving most recently as Public Information Specialist before being promoted to Deputy Director of Communications in 2015. She brings a wealth of communications and marketing experience to her role, having held positions in state government and at a statewide non-profit organization. Katie holds a bachelor’s degree from the Florida State University.
Courtney Larkin, Communications & Governmental Relations Coordinator
Courtney Larkin joined the Office of Communications & Governmental Relations in 2016 as a Coordinator. Most recently, Courtney served as a legislative aide at a Tallahassee advocacy firm specializing in education and agriculture policy. She also brings valuable experience in communications, public relations, and event planning. A graduate of Florida State University, Courtney holds a bachelor’s degree in editing, writing and media.
